We have a wonderful and rich constitution that gives us some pretty awesome ideals to work towards. But there are still a ton of individuals and groups who are denied, on a day to day, moment to moment basis, the very justice, equality, liberty and fraternity that the constitution promises us. Justice, liberty, equality and fraternity are more than just ideals, they are the factors on which the dignity of a full life is built. Take a moment today to think of the number of people you probably meet on a day to day basis who are denied these dignities on the basis of prejudices that are economic, religious, and sexual, just to name a few. It isn’t the government that can deliver these rights to people. It’s each of us. Every single day, by shedding our prejudices and replacing them with empathy instead. Happy Republic Day everyone.
Nice post and wishing you a very happy Republic Day… 🙂
Thank you, Ashish. I wish you the same, a little bit late though.
Thank you so much 🙂
