But; all this talk of isolating or quarantining Pakistan overlooks a crucial factor, which is a super power China. China is solidly behind Pakistan, as it has huge economic investments in that country, particularly in the Baluchistan area which is very rich in natural resources. We may keep thumping our chests and trumpeting about our great diplomatic victory over Pakistan, but it is all a sham. China (and maybe some other countries) having economic interests in Pakistan will never allow it to go under strain. Also remember the NSG episode a few months back? China is holding hands with Pak which is like injecting oneself with virus. Undoubtedly, India’s neighbors, especially China, have pressed the accelerator on modernizing their air forces. The capability gaps will keep increasing if we don’t hasten things up. It will take us some time to stand shoulder to shoulder with China. Also, always respect the bigger and stronger man.
We need to be more diplomatic than to be emotional? If they killed our 18 soldiers, we too have RAW to help baluch rebels to send them in pak army bases and kill their soldiers. Not war? War is no solution it’s the poor intelligence network of our country and soft political approach of government to get rid of Kashmiri separatist. We should learn from Israel to deal with an iron hand. Another practice which can be reinforced is, There shall be no embassy of PAK in Delhi neither we will have ours at Islamabad. China did the same with Taiwan. Numerous countries adopted it with Afghanistan during the Taliban rule. I highly doubt, India can carry on this though.
Except for severing the diplomatic relations with Pakistan, de-recognizing a Sovereign state is no child’s play. Similarly, neither Pakistan can be expelled from the UN nor India can withdraw from the toothless body. Sending arms and ammunition to Baluchistan is also a flight of imagination. Government should suggest an out of box solution and negotiated settlement would be the best solution for all the outstanding disputes between the two estranged countries. War-mongering will only escalate tensions and lead the two neighbors nowhere.
I only wish for peace and harmony on both the sides.I only wish for longer and prosperous lives of our soldiers at border. I only wish for healthy lives for deceased’s families. We don’t want any more bloodshed on either side.We are all one big family living under the same sky.
