Raise your hand, if you love piercings as much as I do! Indeed, they have a hippie look about them that is attractive and aesthetic. A piercing can signify your personality as courageously determined. Piercings, on the other hand, need to be moderately cared for when they aren’t fully healed. That is the downside I highly feel unpleasant about, but that is the nature of a piercing, which acts as a minor wound on your body.
Now, I enjoy piercing a lot and plan on getting more in the future. Nevertheless, my childhood accident made me loathe it. My mom took me to the jewelry store when I was a kid to get pierced. There, they place an earring inside a piercing gun such that when they trigger the gun, the earring will pierce the earlobe. As far as the piercing gun goes, I did not give it much thought, like will it hurt me? How safe is it to do that? The list goes on. However, until they triggered the gun and the earring went through my earlobe flesh, I felt as if it were a real gunshot. Not to exaggerate, but I felt like I was being pierced by a gun. I was dizzy from the pain at the moment. Upon my return home, I felt numb and was confined to my bed. The pain that a piercing gun can cause is something I did not know before.
Even after a few days, I felt hurt like the first day, and I was really upset. I took my earrings out of my earlobes and left them healed and unpierced.
From a kid to a teenager or young adult, the world of perspective, opinion, and personality completely changes. Surfing the Internet enlightened my life and perspective about the world. A free spirit, a strong person, and an optimist are what I aspire to. I then went back to piercing. Unlike ever before, I was more into piercings this time. To some extent, piercing can be attractive and adorable. Because I know to what extent I can pierce myself, I don’t expect to have too many piercings. There are a few on my ear and one on my nose that would represent who I am and still allow me to express myself.
Pinterest lured me to piercings, and its aesthetics made me feel strong, soft and delighted. Next, I planned to get three ear piercings, two standard lobes, and a helix. Researched where they would stay on my ear, which position would hurt more and take a long time to heal, and how to take care of the piercings. Thanks to my friend, I went to the tattoo parlor. The shop offers tattoos as well as piercings. The fact that they use medical disposable needles instead of piercing guns persuaded me. A needle is much safer than a piercing gun and doesn’t cause as much pressure on the ear. In fact, I only felt a slight tingling when the needle went through my earlobe. As time went by, I no longer felt hurt as I did with that gun.
As for the piercings, yes, I got them. Really, I loved to stare at my piercing and think of how cool I looked. This was only the beginning, and I had to take good care to get my piercings healed quickly. As the solution worked into my piercings, they felt itchy and burning. Also, I had to avoid beef and seafood for three to four months because beef and seafood slow down the healing and may lead to pus formation. It can be tiring to get pierced the first time.
The saying goes, “one must suffer to be beautiful.” Every effort or suffering one makes and maintains would be well rewarded. Piercing represents beauty and boldness through its visual aesthetic, the pain it leaves behind, and the completed charm it leaves on your body.
Let me know your experience with the piercings.
