Terrorism has mushroomed all across the world. In India, terrorists have killed 17 Army soldiers and injured 19 in a suicide attack on an Army camp in Kashmir. Four terrorists struck the camp close to headquarter of the 12th Brigade at Uri in Baramulla District. This makes it one of the deadliest terrorist strikes on security forces in recent times.
However, this is not the first such attack this year. There is an increase in infiltration bids by terrorists from across Indo-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir during this year. Poonch attack, Pulwama, Khawaja Bagh attack, Kupwara attack, Pampore attack, Pathankot airbase attack have caused suffering to larger number of soldiers than we can imagine.
But what separates us from the animals, what separates us from the chaos, is our ability to mourn people we’ve never met.
yes, indeed. This of course we call “empathy” & may I be so bold to suggest that we are not the only animals who show this. Elephants & Dolphins are two off the top of my head who demonstrate empathy towards each other. I’m sure there are many more as well.
As far as this separating us from animals,I much rather think that we are very much one in the same. There is only a thin facade covering our souls. We each choose our coverings.
As far as Terrorism goes, thats been going on since we first crawled out upon the stage. The form & geography is the only change. True, is always shocking but unfortunately,…… it is the nature of the beast.
I hope I haven’t been too much of a bore.
thank you
