Humans create beautiful and admirable things. One of them is the Samosa. Another is the Burger. A Samosa is made with so much love, care, and oil while Burger is an industrial product.
You can imagine the dapper Samosa chugging beers upside down in honor of being healthier than burger according to the report of CSE. While the Burger having lost the healthy virtue to a Samosa, is texting Spaghetti about his whims and fancies.
“My samosa is lookin like a snac!” says chutney proudly.
The report by the Centre for Science and Environment has claimed that a Samosa is healthier than a Burger. I remember doctors saying otherwise a few years ago.
Sure, the report vividly states “fresh food contains none of the chemicals present in ultra-processed food.” I have no qualms about it but the conclusion people have jumped to is debatable.
There’s no great difference between them as both are swathed with Maida and jam-packed with potatoes but people believe governmental reports blindly so should you and jump on the bandwagon to treat yoself with a Samosa.
The reasoning of the report being, Samosa is made using fresh ingredients and is free of additives, preservatives and flavourants. On the other hand, a burger has preservatives, acidity regulator, emulsifier, improver and antioxidant along with refined wheat flour, sugar, wheat gluten, edible vegetable oil, yeast, salt, soya flour, sesame seed, vegetables, mayonnaise, and cheese or potato patty.
Basically, most foods in moderation can be both healthy and unhealthy for people at different stages of life.
Do you think doctors will now urge you to have lots of samosas on health grounds? Some may blatantly refuse to even look at one.
Samosas tend to be calorie-dense, are deep fried (calorie count) usually use maida, which most say is less healthy than whole wheat flour and sometimes, at roadside stalls, are fried in oil that has been used again and again (apparently, it is a bad thing).
The ever-growing fame of samosa can be measured by the punch lines, proverbs, corny love messages, witty responses, funny expressions and song clips from popular movies.
Why are bad things always so inviting? Self-control is thrown out of the window at the first glance of greasy food and George Clooney!! Atrocious we humans are.
So, Samosa has finally won hearts with its non-judgmental and greasy nature.
I think any kind of food item can be made healthy as long as you feel animosity towards cheese, chips, and sugar.
Let’s not pretend to be nutritionists with drool-worthy abs, but in reality, there’s no such thing as healthy or unhealthy. It is all about what is good for you at what stage of your life.
